SUPER NINTENDO I SVERIGE
Description
The gaming console Super Nintendo took Sweden by storm when it was launched just before the summer holidays in 1992. Today, the SNES - as it is simply called - is a wonderful and nostalgic reminder of a bygone era for tens of thousands of Swedes. You probably remember the longing in the toy store, the rustling from the torn copies of the Nintendo Magazine and of course the magical moments in front of the TV.
SUPER NINTENDO I SVERIGE is the huge and colorful book about the entry of this beloved slot machine into our country, almost two kilos of pure retro nostalgia.
You get to see classic titles like Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid - which still top the lists of the world's best games. You get a complete overview of the console and games' release in Sweden as well as in-depth interviews with those who were involved and laid the foundation for the Nordic sales success.
SUPER NINTENDO I SVERIGE is the big sibling you longed for as a child. A source of indispensable knowledge about both the most popular and the credibly obscure games that shaped your childhood.
Authors Martin Lindell and Carl Michael Sahlberg are two of the country's most renowned retrospective experts whose combined Nintendo knowledge can few challenge. Lindell has previously written the books History of SEGA and Swedish Video Game Development: From the 50s to the 90s, the latter in collaboration with Thomas Sunhede. Sahlberg is a librarian at the Royal Library and works, among other things, with game preservation.
